Homebound seniors
A dentist for homebound seniors — at home
Why dental care slips for homebound seniors
For many older adults, a trip to the dentist means arranging an ambulette, a family member taking a day off work, a long wait in an unfamiliar room and a chair that is hard to get in and out of. So the visit gets postponed, and small problems — a loose denture, a cracked filling, sore gums — grow into pain, infection and trouble eating.
Dr. Sunny Nath, DDS started Dental at Home to remove those barriers. He comes to the house himself, not a hygienist or a rotating provider, and treats the patient where they are most comfortable.
What we can do at home
- Exams, oral cancer screening and portable digital X-rays
- Gentle cleanings, paced for comfort
- Fillings, crowns and bridges
- Extractions when a tooth cannot be saved
- Root canals to save a painful tooth
- New dentures, plus relines, repairs and adjustments
- Emergency relief for pain, swelling or a broken tooth
What you need in the home
Just a room with electricity and a bit of light. A bed, recliner or wheelchair is fine — we work around the patient. Dr. Nath brings a portable X-ray, suction and a full dental setup, and cleans up completely before he leaves. A typical visit takes 45 to 90 minutes.
Family members and aides are welcome to stay. We explain what we find in plain English, show you the options, and leave written aftercare instructions plus a direct line to the dentist.
Clear prices before any work
The home visit fee is $350 on Long Island and $500 in New York City and Westchester. It covers travel, setup, the exam and X-rays, and you get a written price before any treatment starts.
We do not participate with any insurance plans. You pay us directly, and we prepare and submit the claim so any reimbursement is paid directly to you.
Cherry financing is available, with no hard credit check.
Common questions
Does the patient have to get out of bed?
No. Dr. Nath treats patients in bed, in a recliner or in a wheelchair. We work around the patient, not the other way around.
Is home dental care as good as an office visit?
For most needs, yes. With a portable X-ray, suction and a full setup, most procedures done in an office can be done at home. If something truly needs an office, we'll tell you honestly.
Does insurance cover a home visit?
We do not participate with any insurance plans. You pay us directly, and we prepare and submit the claim so any reimbursement is paid directly to you.
